Our African adventure began with a 15-and-a-half-hour flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg, South Africa, courtesy of Delta Airlines. Despite the lengthy journey, the exceptional service and attentiveness of the flight crew created a relaxing environment for the duration of the flight. Upon landing in Johannesburg, our guide greeted us at the gate, efficiently navigating us through baggage claim and immigration.
The inaugural sailing of the Icon of the Seas was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived at the bustling port of Miami, the anticipation of embarking on a grand adventure filled the air. Ship representatives were present immediately and available to assist with check-in, questions, and the large flow of passengers, making the process quick and stress-free. Stepping aboard the Icon, there was a shared feeling of complete awe. The ship’s grandeur is undeniable, with its vibrant colors and architectural brilliance offering panoramic views that stretch four decks high.
